About the comedy short film “Long Night”
The directors of a new comedy action short film entitled “Long Night” are looking for talented actors and actresses to play leads. The production dates have been set from June 29th to July 3rd, 2016 in Grand Rapids, MI. Written by Dylan Sikkelee, the film will be directed by Nathan Hyde and produced by Sara Wierda.
The story of “Long Night” will be about an unemployed, timid man, Will Hollenbeck, who has been forced to reunite with his idiot brother after the death of their mother. Drowning in crisis, both of them conceive a plan to rob a gas station while still in the church mourning their dead mother. The plan goes horribly wrong in a comedic way and both of them end up being trapped with each other for a very long night that doesn’t seem to end.

The dates for auditions have been set for May 23rd, 25th and 26th, 2016 from between 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Compass college of Cinematic Arts, situated on 41 Sheldon Blvd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Here is a list of all the available roles in the short comedy film “Long Night”.
We will be casting the following roles:
Casting Call for Will Hollenbeck (Male)
To play the lead in this short comedy, the ideal actor must be in his early 20s and mid 30s who portrays an awkward man who is currently in mourning. He is a bit shy but has a goody-good personality. He is older than Marcus who is considered the mess up for the family. Will tries to maintain as much distance from his younger brother as his usual expeditions and workings are highly suspicious and illegal most of the times
Casting Call for Marcus Hollenbeck (Male)
Interested males in their early 20s and mid 30s with an over confident personality will be perfect to play Marcus. Marcus is the younger messed up brother of Will and is always getting in trouble with his usual illegal games. But despite his rough and spoiled exterior, he does have a heart and craves his older brother’s approval.
Casting Call for Sam (Female)
A female in her early 20s to play Sam is one of the characters the casting team is looking for a female who is spunky, girl next door, beautiful and an artistic will be bets for this role. Will has feelings for her for her, but she doesn’t know it because of his shy personality. Ironically, she works at the gas station the boys are planning to rob.
Casting Call for Homeless Man (Male)
Men who are in their late 50s will be perfect to play the role. The homeless man is a person who has been trained to survive even in the worst of living conditions. He will attack the two brothers and steal their money and car as they two try to run for their lives after the robbery goes wrong.
Casting Call for Funeral Director (Male)
The ideal candidate to play funeral director’s role will be in his 40 to 60s with a tall but lanky frame who is very stubborn. His features must depict that he has been in the funeral business for long. He is also very strict as he kicks out of the funeral home when he isn’t able to pay for it. No speaking skills are required for this particular role.
Casting Call for a Big Man (Male)
Applicants for this role aren’t required to have any special speaking skills as this isn’t a speaking role. Males who are in between 30s to 50s, with a rough and tough biker look on their faces with beards. Piercings and tattoos are what the directors are looking for.
Only applications from non-union talent will be entertained.
The auditions are open to all and therefore may consist of cold reading unless request for an aide has been made in advance.

Applicants don’t have to come prepared with a monologue; talent will be fed during the auditions by giving them a script of the film.
