Casting directors are looking for actors to fill various roles in an upcoming short film
Casting for a short (40-minute) Detroit-centered boxing film. Coordinator states: “This is intended for submission to major festivals and as a spec for a potential feature.”
In the heart of America’s great comeback city, a young boxer and his family are due for some good fortune. With his father battling illness and unable to provide, this young man must fight for his family the best way he knows how: professional boxing. Through training our hero is determined to help turn the tides on his family’s situation and restore the comforts of home. A true fighter for both himself and his family. This is a true “Detroit” story about overcoming odds and making a comeback.
Actors must be available in April-June. Days & nights; exact dates TBD depending on role. Shoots in the Detroit, MI area.

Caucasian or mixed, 5’8”+, to play late 20’s, hard-looking, rough around the edges, Boxer/Little Bro’s cousin, new gym owner.

Caucasian or mixed, 5’8”+, to play 50’s-60’s, father to Boxer/Little Bro, working man, rough hands, worn face.
